To call our association a hoax, as someone on the board of an association that claims to defend fishermen and, more broadly, the eel industry has done, is a blunder that we cannot allow to go unchallenged.

In response, we have published this video showing how a day’s fishing is carried out and the glass eels landed.

This video highlights the care with which the glass eels are harvested and the various operations that ensure the unfailing traceability of the glass eels caught and delivered by AFPMAR members.

Let’s hope that this traceability, which characterises the French fishery and which is checked frequently and randomly in the field by the French state services, can also be achieved when the glass eel enters the rearing and restocking sector.
